No New Iron Cove Bridge

The State Government's Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) on 3 December 2007 issued Victoria Road Upgrade: Proposal showing bus lane upgrades for Victoria Road and options for a new bridge crossing (Iron Cove Road Upgrade Proposal December 2007).

• It proposes an additional bridge adjacent to the existing Iron Cove Bridge
  
  
• The additional bridge is proposed to cut through King George Park, Rozelle and overshadow Drummoyne Pool
• It is now estimated to cost $156,000,000 (up from $100,000,000 in Feb. 2007)
  
  
• It is framed as "a proposal to improve the efficiency and reliability of bus services, to benefit bus users and assist general traffic flow through Drummoyne and Rozelle"
